Altadena Revealed Lecture Series

Thank you for joining us for this installment of the Altadena Revealed lecture series:

Altadena Architecture:
A Legacy and an Elegy

Tim Gregory explored the buildings and architectural styles of Altadena we inherited pre-fire, some of what we lost last January, and how those diverse buildings, although no longer with us, can still inspire us as we rebuild.

Presented in partnership with Foothill Catalog Foundation, Altadena Heritage, Pasadena Heritage, Bungalow Heaven Landmark District, and the Altadena Historical Society.

Tim Gregory is a nationally certified archivist and a registered public historian.  Since 1992, he has completed over 3,000 property histories for leading real estate firms and for homeowners. He was the founding chairman of Altadena Heritage, in recognition for which he received the 1991 Altadena Citizen of the Year Award. Mr. Gregory also served on the board of Pasadena Heritage as the Chair of its Education Committee. In 2007, he received an award from the Pasadena/Foothills Association of Realtors for “contributing to marketing resources, providing an historical perspective, and inspiring preservation and restoration efforts.”

ALTADENA REVEALED
Reflections of People & Place
Altadena’s Trees

The third lecture in the Altadena Revealed series welcomed Stephanie Landregan, FASLA, a nationally recognized landscape architect and educator. Stephanie currently serves as the Director of the Landscape Architecture and Horticulture & Gardening Programs at UCLA Extension, where her work emphasizes community-based design and sustainable practices.

Drawing on her years of experience in the Wildlife Urban Interface as Chief Landscape Architect for the Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority, Stephanie spoke about the critical role of trees in fire recovery, climate resilience, and cultural memory. As a co-founder of Altadena Green, a grassroots fire response initiative, she brought a deep insight into the urgent need to protect and reimagine Altadena’s urban forest in the face of increasing wildfire threats.

This timely conversation spotlighted both the vulnerabilities and possibilities of Altadena’s landscape—past, present, and future.
