In 2004, the Golden Poppy Awards were added to the annual Spring\/Summer garden party event. These awards recognize gardens that \u201cpresent to the street,\u201d enhancing the community for everyone. Each year, member of the AH Board of Directors drive all the streets of Altadena to photograph nominee gardens, and then meet to vote on the year\u2019s best. Winners are invited to the Garden Party and presented a plaque to display in their gardens.
