On December 9, the Owen Brown Gravesite Committee unveiled interpretive signs on El Prieto Fire Road Trail. The sign above tells the story of Owen Brown and his family, and why they settled in the Pasadena area 20 years after the failed raid on Harpers Ferry. Altadena Heritage is a partner on this project, represented by Michele Zack, who chairs the committee.<\/p>\n
A \u201cwebsite within a website\u201d on Brown Family history will be launched as part of the AH website \u2014 for the general public, and students and teachers who will soon be learning this history of local and national significance as part of the curriculum at public and private schools.<\/p>\n
